On any factory floor, making the process of collecting inspection data seamless and repeatable is critical for any operation looking to scale production of quality components and assemblies.
Reframe Systems is a Boston based company harnessing advanced robotics and microfactories to deliver climate resilient homes with unprecedented speed and quality. Reframe has completely reimagined the factory from the ground up and leverages a variety of advanced robotics and software to streamline the production of homes from framing to assembly.

As part of their inspection and QC process, Reframe leverages REEKON Digital Tape Measures to accurately capture data and input it directly into their custom built inspection system significantly reducing translational errors. Inspecting framing and other components at varies steps in the manufacturing process is critical for ensuring all components and assemblies fit together, correctly, when assembling the full build.

Prior to using digital tape measures, operators leveraged conventional tape measure tools where the cognitive steps in the process were 3-4x greater. Workers would need align to one of the 10+ points they are trying to capture (per piece), look at the tape measure, count the lines to the nearest value, convert to decimal format, and type into a tablet entry.
"Having operators read tape measures and type in measurements was a slow and error prone process. It required manually entry each step vs with the REEKON T1, they hit start, take 8+ measurements, and hit submit. No stopping and no relying on reading a tape measure." - Felipe Polido (Head of Technology)
With the REEKON T1, users simply select the initial input field, align with the included green laser, hit the save button, and measurements are automatically entered. This transformed an error prone operation into a one handed click and go operation saving hours per month and increasingly traceability on the line.

Getting integrated was a fast process leveraging REEKONs well documented connectivity options for directly integrating with the measuring tools. Starting off with keyboard emulation allowed the process to be set up and validated prior to committing more resources. Keyboard emulation works out of the box and allows Bluetooth data workflows to be setup in 5 minutes or less.
Later one, once the workflows were validated, Reframe leveraged the REEKON SDK to full integrate the products into their system. REEKON Tools can be integrated in multiple ways with any digital system including MES system ERP Systems, and more.
Companies like ReFrame, SpaceX, BOXABL, and more leverage REEKON products to capture elemental data. Reach out if interested in upgrading your factory line with the most accessible Digital Tools available and see immediate improvements on your inspection and line operations.
